Woodgas MEGA as a FIREPLACE insert

Woodgas MEGA as a FIREPLACE insert

Thank you Jonathan for your quick reply. I have a wood furnace that has a heat exchanger located above the firebox. I am trying to use more of the escaping carbon.

Business wise, I brain work bison, antelope, deer, elk, etc. and boil hooves, skulls, bones.
Many of the animals I use would otherwise be thrown away. I have customers in the US and Europe.
I do museum and restoration work on old Native American objects and provide craft materials to those who want the real thing. I use local dead wood and hardwood limbs from the recycling center.

I am also a co-owner and moderator of PlainsIndianSeminartwo at Yahoo Groups. We have almost 700 members internationally and I host a Conference once a year. The other co- owner also heats her home by wood and uses the newer clean burning stove. Mine is a ThermoPride that I am trying to alter to burn more efficiently without investing an arm and a leg.

Since we have a passive solar house, I can heat the house and run my business cutting wood with hand and cross-cut saws.
I get a workout and will not use a chain saw. My background is a masters in Cul. Anthropology. My engineering roots are growing up on the family farm.

There will be tighter restrictions on wood burning in the future.
This is really a big problem in western Montana where many mountain valley children grow up with lung problems from many sources of exhaust.
Here on the plains, we have some of the cleanest air on earth.

Your product concept has a much bigger solution than just camping and backyard bar-b-ques. I also dye cloth using natural and aniline dyes.

One or two MEGAs under a bath tub for aniline dying (180 degree) will be my first plan for your product. Since no heat is needed for the natural dying I do, that is not an issue. I do like the simple idea of removing the unit if the heat is too much. Less smoke also helps when dying cloth.

Again, thank you!

Has anyone tried utilizing the Woodgas Fireplace / Woodgas MEGA as a fireplace insert?

What were the results?
